As our business grows, Colorado Staging Company is expanding our team.  We are excited to introduce our clients to some of the new faces working hard to help get all these Northern Colorado properties lovely and ready for listing.

Suzette joined us last month in the roles of Client Care Coordinator + Design Assistant.  We keep her busy managing our staging agreements, scheduling upcoming projects, and assisting on staging projects in the field.  Design + Real Estate have always been two of her top interests, so joining Colorado Staging Company was a natural fit. Read on to learn more about Suzette:

Colorado Staging Company:  What is your favorite thing about the home staging process?

Suzette: I am constantly amazed at how the simple addition of a few carefully selected items can literally transform a whole home in a very short amount of time.  I have watched Arica unload the van and work magic in under two hours. Small changes can make a HUGE difference in the way a home feels to potential buyers.

CSC: What has been your favorite project we’ve worked on to date?

S:  I have learned a lot from every project I’ve been a part of so far, but the organizer in me really enjoyed a job a few weeks back that involved packing/organizing a homeowner’s closet before the property was listed.  Closet space is really important in selling homes, and part of the staging process for this home included highlighting the really great master closet area by thinning some of the volume from the closet’s contents.

One of the major lessons I’ve already learned from working with Colorado Staging Company is that before you can add the pretty greenery and throw pillows… a homeowner needs to edit what is on display.  You’re going to have to pack once you sell… so you  might as well start now!  It’s a win-win for sellers AND stagers.

CSC: What is your favorite source for design inspiration?

S: I can lose hours of my life pinning things to my Pinterest  boards.  But I really prefer going through design magazines.  I like the act of tearing out pages that I want to keep and filing them in my “future projects” binder.  It’s getting pretty huge.  I have it sorted by living space so I can go back and find ideas later.

My current favorite magazines are Style At Home, Colorado Homes & Lifestyles, and House Beautiful.  I get a lot of great DIY ideas from the HGTV magazine as well.

CSC: What do you like to do when you aren’t working on staging projects?

S:  I’m usually spending time with my family!  My husband and I are from Loveland, so we have a lot of extended family close by.  We like boating, taking our two kiddos to explore all the fun things that Colorado has to offer, and mostly spending time at home.
